CALL FOR INTERNS – MAY 2026 INTAKE (FOOD SCIENCE GRADUATES)
Uhuru Food Technology and Skilling Centre (UFOTEC) Ltd invites motivated Food Science graduates to apply for its Industrial Training Program in food processing, quality systems, and MSME development.
Duration: 1st May 2026 – 30th November 2026 (6 months)
Positions available: 2
Areas of training:
- Food & beverage product development
- Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) & Good Hygiene Practices (GHP)
- HACCP systems implementation
- Product certification processes & documentation
- Small-scale factory setup & operations
- Business Development Services (BDS), including:
- Business registration
- Trademark registration
- MSME compliance support
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science/Technology or related field
- Must have completed university or awaiting graduation (recent graduates encouraged)
- Strong interest in agro-processing, quality systems, and MSME development
- Must be available to start full-time on 1st May 2026 (mandatory)
Added advantage: Applicants with prior internship or practical exposure in:
- Fruit & vegetable processing
- Dairy and dairy products
- Fermented beverage processing
- Cereal processing
- Confectionery (snacks and value-added products)
- Bakery and pastry production
Location: Kakiri – Wakiso

Internship terms:
This is an unpaid, training-based internship designed to provide hands-on industry experience in a real food processing and MSME development environment. Successful interns will receive a certificate of completion and may be considered for recommendation or future engagement opportunities within UFOTEC’s SME ecosystem, based on performance and organizational needs.
Suitability:
This program is best suited for candidates interested in agro-processing, entrepreneurship, and working with small-scale and rural-based enterprises.
